EU Selects New President

By Jimmy DeYoung

At a summit meeting of the 27 member states of the European Union, the group selected both the permanent president and the foreign policy chief to lead them into the future, a future that will see this united states of Europe become an even more influential political and economic power on the world stage today. The Prime Minister of Belgium, Herman van Rompuy, was selected by the European Union nations as the President of the Council made up of the 27 member states and from Great Britain, the Baroness Catherine Ashton was elected as the Chief of Foreign Policy for the European Union.

With the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, which is now the law of the European Union, and the election of the two main leaders of this united states of Europe, the world has witnessed a history making event that will have great impact on world affairs in the future.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The European Union has made history with the election of its leaders for the future and has moved closer to a role in Bible prophecy as it relates to the end of days.

On March 25, 1957, the Treaty of Rome was signed in the seven hilled city of Rome to form the European Common Market. Now, over 50 years later, the Lisbon Treaty has been ratified and in accordance with the treaty, the member states of the European Union has elected the two most important leaders to take this United States of Europe into the future. History has been made with the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty and the election of these two leaders.

However, this history making event is setting the stage for Bible prophecy found in the book of Daniel to be fulfilled. The ancient Jewish prophet Daniel prewrote history about the revival of the Old Roman Empire (Daniel 2:40-45; 7:7 and 24). This prophetic scenario reveals the revival of the Old Roman Empire with a leader to take this political economic entity into the future. With the merger of the 17 member states of the Mediterranean Union to the 27 member states of the European Union, you have the exact same borders as the Old Roman Empire in place.

The European Union may or may not be the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, but for sure, the infrastructure for the Revived Roman Empire is in place today - ready to have the world witness the fulfillment of Bible prophecy in a future tomorrow.

Will We Be Microchipped?

by Michael G. Mickey
(11-16-09)

Bible prophecy foretells a time coming in the prophetic future when the prophesied Antichrist is going to cause "all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." (Revelation 13:16-17)

All of us familiar with bible prophecy know what the preceding Scripture specifically refers to, namely the mark of the beast, but do we fully realize that right now, buried within a Democratic party-endorsed bill that most of us overwhelmingly stand in opposition to, the precursor to the mark of the beast, at the very least, may be lurking, largely unseen by the public?

The following is an excerpt from a Canada Free Press article dealing, in part, with ObamaCare and the Democratic Party's greatly sought health care reform bill:
The Obama Health care bill under Class II (Paragraph 1, Section B) specifically includes in its lists of things that must be registered in the NATIONAL MEDICAL DEVICE REGISTRY: ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable.”

Then on page 1004 it describes what the term “data” means in paragraph 1, section B:
‘‘(B) In this paragraph, the term ‘data’ refers to information respecting a device described in paragraph (1), including claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the Secretary.”
What is meant by the term, “class II device that is implantable”?

According to the FDA, a class II implantable device is a “implantable radiofrequency transponder system for patient identification and health information.” The purpose of a class II device is to collect data in medical patients such as “claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the Secretary.” In other words an RFID chip such as are used in a number of dogs and cats. Just like Obama’s dogs.
Humans being marked in the manner domestic pets and livestock presently are? That's precisely what bible prophecy seems to foretell coming, does it not?

Numerous times in the past I've directed my readers to consider the possibility that the implantable microchip, the VeriChip, could be the prophesied mark of the beast in the making or a precursor to same. The information above does nothing to discredit that possibility. To the contrary, it raises the possibility dramatically, especially when we consider the course VeriChip Corporation recently embarked on.

In an article entitled "VeriChip Buys Steel Vault, Creating Micro-Implant Health Record/Credit Score Empire" we read the following, in part:
VeriChip (CHIP), the company that markets a microchip implant that links to your online health records, has acquired Steel Vault (SVUL), a credit monitoring and anti-identity theft company. The combined company will operate under a new name: PositiveID.

The all-stock transaction will leave PositiveID in charge of a burgeoning empire of identity, health and microchip implant businesses that will only encourage its critics. BNET previously noted that some regard the company as part of a prophecy in the Book of Revelation (because the HealthLink chip carries an RFID number that can be used as both money and proof of ID) or as part of President Obama’s secret Nazi plan to enslave America.
Remember when the implantable VeriChip was approved by the FDA in October of 2004, supposedly for use in humans for 'medical' purposes, and critics of my suspicions were laughing at me, as well as others observing current events in light of bible prophecy, for speculating that the VeriChip's applications might be expanded to include mark of the beast-like qualities? I do. The critics aren't laughing now. Well, they may be but they're doing it a lot more quietly, primarily because it looks like the bible prophecy-watching community had a great deal more foresight than they did.

As early as 2005, it was becoming clear the VeriChip implantable microchip was being eyed as attractive to government - and not just to store medical records. In a 2005 commentary, I included a quote of interest indicating that "these types of applications are actually being driven under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security." And no, I didn't make that quote up. I pulled it directly from a story posted on Yahoo Finance's list of business news stories and provided a link to same as verification for my readers to review for themselves. Unfortunately, the link from the 2005 commentary is dead now, as is often the case with news items several years old, but look at where we are now!

Before our very eyes, the once innocuous-sounding VeriChip Corporation has metamorphosized into PositiveID Corporation, indicating, in my opinion, that the primary focus of this company, regardless of how much it touts the medical uses of its implantable microchips, is CLEARLY on marketing its implantable microchip as a means of IDENTIFICATION.

The term 'positive identification' is one I'm quite familiar with as a retired police officer with decades of experience. Establishing positive identification is critical in any case where law is going to be enforced, far more so than in any hospital emergency room I'm familiar with! As a police officer, I have seen many an individual transported to the hospital and treated for serious illnesses or injuries without anyone positively knowing who the individuals were. I have not, on the other hand, seen a lot of people go to jail without 'positive ID' having been established beforehand.

Now don't get me wrong! There are any number of circumstances where I've seen an unidentified suspect hauled off to jail and booked as a John Doe for committing a crime, but this is the exception rather than the rule - and by far! Reason? It's a crime in most states to fail to identify one's self to law enforcement if one is being legally detained or arrested by a police officer having probable cause to do so. Not only is it a crime to refuse to be positively identified, it's a major inconvenience for a suspect. Refusing to be identified is a separate criminal offense that only adds to the suspect's troubles. Even more bothersome, one charged with a criminal offense as a John Doe is never granted bail.

What I'm trying to convey here is we may be able to tell a great deal concerning the direction a corporation's technology may be headed based on something as simple as a name change, especially in this case.

From day one I've said that if the implantable microchip is the prophesied mark of the beast in the making, or even a precursor to it, we would begin to see similarities between the two. While the verdict is still out, we know the implantable microchip can serve as a positive identification, can store personal information like medical records, and even be utilized to make a financial transaction. Without drawing any final conclusions, we're getting there, aren't we?

Assume for a moment that the implantation of microchips becomes mandatory in the future, toss in a dictatorial leader who would connect having (or not having) the implant as an indication of where one's political loyalties lie, and make it impossible for one to buy or sell without having the chip and what do you have? I don't know about any of you, but I think you may well have the mark of the beast.

Giving The Beast Teeth

by Michael G. Mickey
(11-16-09)

In what could be as soon as a few days, the revived Roman empire of bible prophecy, the European Union, is going to name its first EU President and Foreign Minister as a result of the ratification of its Lisbon Treaty. Even before that has happened, Italy is calling for a European Union army to be formed, as seen in an EUBusiness.com article:
Italy's foreign minister called for the creation of a European Union army following ratification of a landmark EU reform treaty, in a newspaper interview out Monday.

Speaking ahead of an EU summit this week, Franco Frattini said the Lisbon Treaty establishes "that if some countries want to enter into reinforced co-operation between themselves they can do so."

"Every country duplicates its forces, each of us puts armoured cars, men, tanks, planes, into Afghanistan," he told Britain's Times newspaper, saying there was a "necessary objective to have a European army."

"If there were a European army, Italy could send planes, France could send tanks, Britain could send armoured cars, and in this way we would optimise the use of our resources.

"Perhaps we won't get there immediately, but that is the idea of a European army".
In bible prophecy we see that the prophesied Antichrist and the world government under his control is not only going to have a lot of political clout, it is also going to be mighty in its offensive military prowess.

Daniel 7:7: After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it [was] diverse from all the beasts that [were] before it; and it had ten horns.

Daniel 7:23: Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

For a long time my position has been that the European Union, headquartered in part in Brussels, Belgium has never had to look far to find teeth to bare. After all, the greatest military alliance in the world, NATO, is based in Brussels as well. The creation of a uniquely European Union military force, however? That would be dramatic to say the least. And who knows? It may be on its way to occurring before our very eyes.

Fort Hood: The Price of Political Correctness

By Eric Bruni

Before I begin my commentary, I would first like to extend the condolences of myself and my family to the family members and those victims involved in the Fort Hood terrorist attack. May the Lord give you comfort and bring you peace in this time of great sorrow. God Bless all of our service men and women who put themselves in harm’s way, everyday, simply by putting on their uniform.

That being said, I will not disgrace the names and memories of these fallen heroes by NOT acknowledging the true problem. The problem, my friends, IS islam.

The brutal attack on our troops here was the result of what happens after years of political correctness run amuck. After years of “you can’t say anything bad about islam.” We have allowed a militant religion to infiltrate the very core of our nation under the guise of ‘diversity’.

That’s right, MILITANT.

Islam always has and always will be a religion based in militant ideology. This is not new. This is plainly stated in their texts and proven through history.

Yet, people today, wearing their PC badges of honor, STILL try to impress upon us the idea of the ‘religion of peace’. I have yet to see this so called ‘peace’ that everyone touts so highly when speaking of Muhammed’s wonderful religious organization. I can, however, document all of the atrocities committed by him as well as his peaceful followers, all in the name of Allah.

How can an unrepentant murderer found a religion of peace and then proceed to use violence to spread it and walk away looking as pure as the driven snow?

Answer: He can’t.

The only way this is possible is for people to purposefully blind themselves to the truth and that, my friends, is where we find ourselves today.

In the name of ‘tolerance’ we have let the fox into the hen house and cried freedom of religion while doing it. Do you really believe that our founding fathers intended religious freedom to allow subversive, cultic, sects to infect our society to the point that we are destroyed from within? Um, the answer to that would be ……no. Thieves may as well start calling THAT practice a ‘religion’ and then we’d have to defend their acts of theft under the banner of tolerance. Don’t stop there! Why don’t we sanction legalized child molestation so that molesters won’t ‘feel bad’ or be ‘hated’? Instead we’ll provide a ‘safe and legal’ environment for them to practice their perversions because the alternative might be unpleasant, right? We could cut down the number of kidnappings and child murders all in the name of wonderful ‘tolerance’.

Just don’t mention Jesus. THAT would be….well…….crossing a line.

A new and glorious age is upon us. Diversity, tolerance, and acceptance are all king despite any violations of morality and we celebrate all of our differences and line up to be slaughtered in the process.

You do realize that the whole Muslim world is laughing at us. Laughing and reveling in our ignorance. They attack us through those very things we THINK make our country great but, in actuality, only keep us divided and oblivious while they sneak in and corrupt our once God-fearing nation. They said they would do it. Didn’t anybody listen? No. Instead, we’re told not to jump to conclusions even though every ounce of evidence points to the obvious. I’m reminded of the words of Satan in the garden, “you will not surely die”, despite the fact that God had just informed Adam and Eve that the contrary would, in fact, happen.

Notice something. Not once in my commentary have I suggested violent retribution against Muslims in the name of Christ. There are no Muslims being slaughtered in the streets of America. Christ wouldn't want that, a principle that muslims don’t seem to want to embrace. You know, the idea of loving your enemy by praying for them? However, loving your enemy does not mean helping him to kill you either.

We have to recognize the enemy and we haven’t. It’s like quarantining someone with the plague. It’s not pleasant but it has to be done. There is no place for a cult like Islam in a free society. It is the antithesis to such a society. We instead choose to fight against a tactic (terrorism) instead of the cause of said tactic. This is like prescribing Advil for cancer. It might help some very mild pain but you’re not engaging the problem. The problem is a violent cult religion founded by a murderous tyrant.

So please, spare me your justifications involving the ‘religion of peace’.

My eyes are wide open. Are yours, America?

Or will it take another several thousand innocent deaths before you suddenly awaken AGAIN to feigned remorse that will gloss over as soon as you realize someone’s feelings may be hurt?

Don’t disgrace the names of ALL those who have died at the hands of this murderous cult.

People in Texas and all over the world are counting on us.

How To Interpret The Bible

This Week’s Feature Article by Jack Kelley

The Bible isn’t such a complex document that it requires years of formal education before you can begin to comprehend it. I’ve always believed the Bible was meant to be understood by any believer who can read and has a serious interest in knowing what it says. I say this because I believe the Bible is best approached by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit rather than one’s own intellect. James 1:5 says that any of us who lacks wisdom need only ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault.

Conversely the man without the Spirit can not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God regardless of his mental prowess. (1 Cor. 2:14) This is why we hear of people who tried to read the Bible as non-believers and found they couldn’t figure it out, but as soon as they were born again it began to make sense. They didn’t suddenly become more intelligent, they simply gained the supernatural insight of the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things. (John 14:26)

Over the 25 years or so I’ve been studying the Bible I’ve picked up a handful of principles that have also given me a better understand what it says. They help keep me honest so I know it’s the Holy Spirit teaching me, and not just my sin infested intellect coming to its own conclusion. From time to time I get asked about these principles, having mentioned them in answers to various questions, so here they are.

The Golden Rule of Interpretation

“When the plain sense of scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise.” Dr. D.L. Cooper

This hasn’t become known as the Golden Rule of Interpretation for nothing. If you ignore all the others and only follow this one rule you will avoid almost all the mistakes people make in reading the Bible. And the next one is like it, sort of an expanded version of the first.

Literal, Historical, Grammatical, Contextual

These could be called the most important words in Biblical Hermeneutics, which is the science of properly interpreting the Bible.

Literal means that each word is given the same exact basic meaning it would have in normal, ordinary, customary usage, whether employed in writing, speaking or thinking. Unless it’s clearly indicated otherwise, we’re to assume the Bible means exactly what it says. Examples of passages that are not intended to be taken literally are parables, dreams, and visions. These are all identified as such, alerting us to the fact that they’re meant to be understood symbolically.

Historical means that each passage is put into its proper historical setting and surrounded with the thoughts, attitudes, and feelings prevalent at the time of its writing. In Biblical times the Jewish view of the Messiah was one of a charismatic leader like King David. In other words, a man, not God in human form. Knowing that helps us understand how they failed to recognize Him, and why they accused Him of blasphemy when He claimed to be God.

Grammatical means that words are given meanings consistent with their common understanding in the original language at the time of writing. Grammatical interpretation also includes following recognized rules of grammar and in its more advanced form, applying the nuances of the Hebrew and Greek languages to the understanding of a passage.

A good example showing the importance of following the rules of grammar can found in Daniel 9:27 where the subject of the first sentence in the verse is a personal pronoun. “He will confirm a covenant with (the) many.” The rule of grammar regarding personal pronouns is that they refer to the closest preceding personal noun. In this case it’s “the ruler who will come” in verse 26 indicating that the person who will confirm the covenant with Israel is the anti-Christ, not the Lord as some commentators assert.

Contextual interpretation involves always taking the surrounding context of a verse/passage into consideration when trying to determine its meaning. The Holy Spirit has usually prompted the Bible’s writers to place indicators in the text surrounding a passage to guide you in interpreting it. In 1 Cor. 9:24-27 Paul compares our life to that of an athlete, training and competing for crowns. The mention of crowns tells us the passage is not about salvation, which is a free gift, but rewards believers can win after being saved. (In this case it’s the crown of victory, awarded to those who overcome the ways of the flesh by getting rid of selfish desires, bad habits and attitudes, etc.)

When you stop to think about it, reading the Bible this way actually makes perfect sense. If you received a letter from a friend you wouldn’t have to be reminded to apply these principles. You would naturally assume that your friend was using words that meant the same thing to both of you. You would understand them within the parameters of your shared history, you would assume that the rules of grammar you had both been taught applied, and you would interpret what was written within the context of your relationship. You would expect your friend to alert you if any of these assumptions were not going to apply, and explain the reason for it.

The only difference with the Bible is that it was written over a long period of time, during which the meanings of some words changed, and society is generally different now than it was when the Bible was written. This makes books on Bible history and a good concordance valuable additions to your library.

Expositional Constancy

This is a fancy term to remind us that symbolism in scripture tends to be consistent. For example, through out the Bible leaven, or yeast, is used symbolically to stand for sin. Therefore there’s no justification for claiming that in the Parable of the Yeast (Matt. 13:33) and there alone, it stands for the Gospel. Expositional Constancy only applies to words that are used symbolically, so be careful. Peter’s statement in 2 Peter 3:9 that with the Lord a day is like 1000 years and 1000 years is like a day does not justify substituting 1000 years for a day every time it comes up. Peter was simply explaining that the Lord’s concept of time is way different from ours.

Internal Consistency

The Bible, being the word of God, cannot contradict itself. The Lord is just and righteous so He can’t say something in one place and something different in another. He knows the end from the beginning so He can’t change His mind or take back something He’s given. Everything He says has to agree with everything else He says. For example, if the Bible says it’s God who makes us stand firm in Christ, that He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us and put His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee of what’s to come (2 Cor. 1:21-22), then it can’t say that we can walk away from our salvation or have it taken away from us someplace else.

Principle Of First Mention

Often when an important concept is mentioned for the first time there is elevated significance in the context of the passage in which it appears. The first mention of the Church is in Matt.16:18 where Peter declared that Jesus is the Messiah, son of the living God. Jesus said that this truth would be the foundation upon which He would build His Church. Notice who’s going to be doing the building and whose Church it is. Studying the passage where an important concept first appears can be very helpful in interpreting subsequent passages on the same subject.

Use Clear Passages To Interpret Obscure Ones

Some passages of Scripture are more difficult to interpret correctly than others. When confronting one of these, it’s best to locate the clearest verses on the subject and use them to help interpret the difficult one. A classic example is Hebrews 6:4-6 which, when taken alone, seems to say that we can fall away and lose our salvation, and if that should happen we can never get it back. But the clearest verses on salvation are Ephesians 1:13-14 and 2 Cor. 1:21-22, and they plainly state the opposite. The Ephesians passage says we were included in Christ when we first heard and believed the gospel. Having believed we were sealed with the Holy Spirit, a deposit that guarantees our inheritance. In 2 Corinthians Paul went even further saying that God himself has accepted responsibility for making us stand firm in Christ and has set His seal of ownership on us, like a rancher brands his cattle.

Applying the principles above we must conclude that the writer to Hebrews had to be talking about something else. When we look at the context of the letter, we find that it was written to Jewish believers who were being lured back into the Levitical system, which used the sacrifice of a lamb to atone for sins. For the Church, the Lord’s death fulfilled what the sacrifice only symbolized, so going back to this was tantamount to sacrificing Him all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace, because by their actions they were saying that His death was not sufficient to atone for their sins.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, going back to the sacrifice was no longer acceptable to God because the Law was only a shadow of the good things that are coming, not the realities themselves. For that reason it could never make perfect those who draw near to worship no matter how many times they repeated it. (Hebr. 10:1) But when the Lord offered His sacrifice once for all time, He made perfect forever those who are being made holy (Hebr. 10:12-14) During the Church Age all we have to do after sinning is confess our sins to receive forgiveness, be brought back to repentance, and be purified from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Now Hebrews 6:4-6 makes sense because it conforms to the internal consistency of God’s Word.

There are lots of other rules and principles man has developed for application to God’s word, but in my opinion if we just apply the ones I’ve listed above we’ll stand a good chance of avoiding the errors and misinterpretations that seem to be so common these days.

The Bible is quite simply the most incredible book ever written. Some parts of it were written at least 4000 years ago, and by 95AD its most recent chapters were finished. But according to Paul it was written to teach us, upon whom the end of the age has come. (Romans 15:4, 1 Cor. 10:11) If we’ll just read it the way we would any other document, as if it means what it says, the Holy Spirit will reveal wondrous truths from within its pages. Truths that will give us an anchor against the storms of deceit and controversy that have become so common in our time. Maybe that’s why it was written primarily to us. Selah 11-14-09

GOP Congressman: If Healthcare Bill Is So Fabulous, Why The Handcuffs?

A valid question is raised on Capitol Hill, one we all need to seek an answer to as the implications are frightening.
