The Vatican Goes Galactic

by Michael G. Mickey
(11-10-09)

The last days prophecies of the bible are replete with warnings concerning both deception and delusion, which brings me to the topic of today's commentary - the Vatican openly going galactic, literally considering the prospect of intelligent extraterrestrial life existing in our universe, the spiritual ramifications of which are near impossible to measure. Before we get into that in full, let's briefly examine Scripture that should stand out to us as glaring warnings to steer clear of such things.

Satan is referred to both as the god of this world and the prince of the power of the air, by no coincidence, in my opinion, the atmospheric regions where UFO phenomena is most often reportedly observed.

2nd Corinithians 4:3-4: But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Ephesians 2:2: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Secondly, Scripture couldn't be more clear in warning us deception is going to be rampant in the last days. And beyond the Rapture of the Church? Strong delusion is going to manifest itself so ppowerful in magnitude it is going to snare many lost souls and lead them down the path to eternal damnation.

Matthew 24:24: For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12: And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Pleasure in unrighteousness and ETs

I want to be very clear in stating that I am by no means dogmatic in suspecting UFO phenomena and supposed intelligent extraterrestrials are going to play any role in the last days whatsoever, but when I originally read the content of the Telegraph article this commentary is based on, I couldn't help but see the underpinnings of a great satanic deception in the making, the only question in my mind being whether the Father's prophetic plan includes allowing it to be furthered beyond what we're going to examine today.

The Telegraph article, entitled "The Vatican joins the search for alien life", opens as follows:

The Pontifical Academy of Sciences is holding a conference on astrobiology, the study of life beyond Earth, with scientists and religious leaders gathering in Rome this week.

For centuries, theologians have argued over what the existence of life elsewhere in the universe would mean for the Church: at least since Giordano Bruno, an Italian monk, was put to death by the Inquisition in 1600 for claiming that other worlds exist.

Among other things, extremely alien-looking aliens would be hard to fit with the idea that God “made man in his own image”.

Furthermore, Jesus Christ’s role as saviour would be confused: would other worlds have their own, tentacled Christ-figures, or would Earth’s Christ be universal?

However, just as the Church eventually made accommodations after Copernicus and Galileo showed that the Earth was not the centre of the universe, and when it belatedly accepted the truth of Darwin's theory of evolution, Catholic leaders say that alien life can be aligned with the Bible’s teachings.
Where to begin with a mess like this? Satan has pulled all the stops in floating this by means of the Vatican and already we see the doubt a discovery of any sort supportive of intelligent extraterrestrial life would have on the Christian faith, not to mention the doubt it would sow in the hearts of skeptics, particularly those who today are rejoicing in their unrighteousness.

Taking it from the top, the discovery of intelligent extraterrestrial life that looked differently than humankind would immediately cast doubts on the biblical account of the creation of humanity in God's "own image".

If, through deception, Satan could rip a hole in the biblical account of creation or even weaken it as a foundation of man having faith in the God of the bible, many who are presently on the fence concerning what they believe in would land squarely on the side of believing in little green men, especially if it was believed these beings, for lack of a better word, possessed the technological aptitude to offer mankind longer life or, God forbid, eternal life through science. Those who are today rejoicing in their unrighteousness, literally reveling in their pursuit of morally decrepit lifestyles, would jump for joy!

Secondly, as the article alludes to, the entire role of Christ as Savior of the world would be muddied. If God's prophetic plan should permit Satan to further human belief in extraterrestrial life through the Vatican or any other organization, there is little doubt mankind would be introduced to deities of extraterrestrial origin. Why do I say that? Because Satan never misses a trick when it comes to getting mankind's focus off of Jesus Christ, our one and ONLY Savior!

Lastly, the paragraph detailing how the church has made accommodation for everything science has said is true resonates strongly with me when I consider how many churches today would react to a scientific claim of little green men from Mars being a reality - or giant purple men from a different galaxy altogether for that matter. There's a lot of accommodating going on in Christendom today, isn't there? You better believe it and it is in perfect keeping with bible prophecy.
1st Timothy 4:1: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
As the article above details, Darwinian evolution is accepted as true by the Vatican, as well as many other churches today. That being the case, why would any of us doubt that modern Christianity would today buy into another tall tale about life in the universe as we know it?

BONUS THOUGHT: If intelligent extraterrestrial life was discovered somehow, there is little doubt they would be presented to us as eons ahead of us scientifically, which would mean they'd probably know much more than we do concerning the origins of our galactic neighborhood and how it supposedly came to exist. My guess? The story wouldn't look anything like the biblical account of creation. Like I said earlier, Satan never misses a trick.

Conclusion

The Telegraph article quotes theoretical physicist Paul Davies as saying the following:
"The real threat would come from the discovery of extraterrestrial intelligence, because if there are beings elsewhere in the universe, then Christians, they're in this horrible bind."

"They believe that God became incarnate in the form of Jesus Christ in order to save humankind, not dolphins or chimpanzees or little green men on other planets."
Having read all of this, is there anyone who doesn't see the extreme threat posed to the gospel of Jesus Christ by the Vatican opening pandora's box like this on the issue of extraterrestrial life? I pray not!

From my perspective, the only reason a born-again believer has to avoid worrying themself sick concerning the salvation of every last soul they know who hasn't come to faith in Christ, in light of what's going on in this instance, is if God's prophetic plan prevents Satan from running the ball the Vatican has just handed off to him, and there is no concrete way for us to know the answer to that.

Could an extraterrestrial angle fit into the end times scenario, somehow accounting for what appears to be the supernatural power of the Antichrist and False Prophet as revealed in Revelation 13, a prime example of which is seen in the False Prophet somehow bringing an image of the Antichrist to life - and to the extent that it will both speak and kill?
Revelation 13:15: And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
While we generally know the landscape of end times bible prophecy as a result of men of God studying it in-depth and sharing their insight with mankind, there are a number of unanswered questions, among which is the following: What kind of delusion could be so powerful in scope that it would be near, if not completely, impossible for some to ever come to the truth contained in God's Word, even in the face of what will be overwhelming evidence that the bible's final prophecies are being fulfilled leading up to the visible, physical, bodily return of Jesus Christ at Armageddon? That's a question I've long pondered but, regardless of whether supposed extraterrestrials will play a role in end times bible prophecy, there is no question that the signature of Satan is written all over the Vatican taking an interest in discovering intelligent extraterrestrial life.

Remember, Christians and anyone else who may stumble across this commentary, take heed that no man deceive you. (Matthew 24:4) Ditto for supposed ETs!

Great article Mike.
Thanks
I believe you are right on. I can think of no other delusion that would work so well. And this news seems to dovetail in nicely with all the other events in the world. I can't imagine trying to convince one of the current American idiots that ET's are Satanic, can you?

As long as ETs are supportive of BIG government, no one presently in leadership in the hallowed halls of Washington would see a reason not to be completely supportive of them. This would be even more true if ETs had, as a goal, the utter destruction of the United St...

You get the idea! LOL!

This ET remark is interesting. Can you imagine what the headlines would be after millions of people(the church) just dissapear, and all of the sudden people realize that those "hate filled Christians" are gone. They will beleive we were vaperized because we were so intolerant and think that we were punished for being that way. I do think that people who know of Christians who have told them about the rapture will not fall for an ET experience, especially when only Christians have dissapeared. God bless,

I sincerely pray you're right when it comes to people who've at least heard of the rapture being resistant to an ET delusion, if anything such as that is included in God's prophetic plan.

Off that topic, it's ironic the Vatican is getting into this ET thing right after the debut of the series "V" debuted on ABC last week.

I just watched the debut episode on Hulu.com and it literally has, as one of its main characters, a priest who immediately is suspicious of the Vs (Visitors) and wonders what the religious implications of their arrival means.

In one of the VERY first scenes, literally, a guy is at the altar of the church the priest oversees. As one of the motherships moves into position, a large crucifix positioned above the altar comes crashing down and shatters as the priest sees what is happening and pulls him to safety.

Seeing the cross fall upon the arrival of the Vs is no stretch, I fear, should such an event be in keeping with God's prophetic plan.

In Christ,
Mike

Oh Brother!

The Bible makes no mention of life on any other planet. And I would rather think that it would be crucial information if there were.

When Adam sinned, it affected the whole universe. That being said, if we do not have the technology to visit other planets, how could an alien visit ours?

And...if alien planets were not affected by Adams sin, then why would God allow them to contact our planet thus being tainted by our sin?

It's so much hooey it's perfectly laughable.

Beam us up, Lord. There's no intelligent life here!

I think these deceptions are indeed from Satan and are designed to weaken people's trust in the Bible.

A case in point is the theory of evolution. Many Christians think of evolution as an attack against belief in God, and that is the way it is used today, but as I point out in one of my articles on evolution (link is in my blog if you are interested), the real target that evolution attacks is the Bible. One can profess belief that God exists and still believe in evolution, and when the false prophet works his signs and wonders, many people will believe God exists. But you cannot believe evolution and the Bible, and trust in the Bible is the real target that the theory of evolution tries to destroy.

It has been a while since I've been pondering on the possibility of Satan posing as a head of 'vastly technologically advanced and ancient' ET race coming down to earth and presenting us his version of 'solution' to all our problems (see Book of Enoch for their last attempt and the consequences in Gen.7). Of course they will be as far from Jesus as east is from the west, no doubt there! They will 'prove' the evolution and Big bang theories 'to be correct'... And of course 'those Christians' will be labeled as 'spiritually blind and in need of development', lest they 'disappear' when the rest of humanity 'transcends' i.e. into the higher plains of wickedness :)
